Welcome to the KAIST Center
for Anthropocene Studies.
“We have entered a new phase of planetary history, the Anthropocene.”
The Anthropocene defines the Earth’s most recent geological epoch
to reflect that human activities have made a profound impact on the planet.
With the slogan “Human and Earth in the Anthropocene,”
we aim to provoke a paradigm shift in academic research, public policy, and artistic creation.
Attempts to comprehend the state of the “damaged planet” by observing global environemental changes in the Anthropocene.
Analyzes the changing forms of human life in the Anthropocene and seeks for technological and political solutions.
Absorbs the research findings from the other groups and, in turn, inspires them for further inquiry.
